Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data National Property Buyers collects, why, and what rights you have over it.

Who we are

National Property Buyers is a trading name of NPB Assets Limited. This is the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. Our registered office is West One, 55–57 Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham, NG2 7LA. See our company registration details for full corporate information.

We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZB708424. See our ICO registration page for full detail.

Our Data Protection Officer is Garry Slater. For questions about this policy, or how we handle your data, contact him through our team.

What personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

  • Your name, address, and contact details, including phone number and email
  • Details about your property, including its condition and any legal or financial complications
  • Financial information relevant to your sale
  • Identity verification documents, where required for anti-money laundering checks
  • Recordings of phone calls between us, where calls are recorded
  • Technical data from your use of this website — see our cookie policy for full detail

Why we collect it, and our legal basis

We only use your data for genuine, specific purposes, each with a proper legal basis under UK GDPR:

  • To provide you with a property valuation and purchase offer. This is necessary to perform our contract, or to take steps you have requested beforehand.
  • To verify your identity and comply with anti-money laundering law. This is a legal obligation we are required to meet.
  • To communicate with you about your sale. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To improve our service. This is our legitimate interest, balanced against your rights.
  • To send you marketing communications, where you have agreed to receive them. This is based on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Who we share your data with

We share personal data only where genuinely necessary:

  • With conveyancing partners, to progress your sale
  • With our marketing platform, where you have consented to receive marketing communications
  • With identity verification and anti-money laundering checking services
  • With regulatory bodies, where legally required, including The Property Ombudsman or the ICO, if a complaint is raised

We never sell your personal data to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected, and to meet legal obligations. As a general guide:

  • Identity verification and customer due diligence records are kept for five years after our relationship ends. This follows the Money Laundering Regulations 2017.
  • General financial and contractual records are kept for six years, in line with standard UK record-keeping requirements.
  • Marketing consent records are kept for as long as you remain subscribed, as evidence of your agreement.

Cookies

This website uses cookies. See our cookie policy for full detail on what we use, why, and how to manage your preferences.

International data transfers

Our customer relationship management system, Go High Level, is provided by a company based in Dallas, Texas, United States. This means some personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom.

Where this happens, we rely on the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. This is the UK Government’s approved mechanism for such transfers. Go High Level is specifically certified under the UK Extension, not only the general EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Our postal address lookup provider is based in the United Kingdom and does not involve an international transfer.

How we keep your data secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Your data is stored within our CRM provider, Go High Level. All employees are trained never to share data outside of that system.

Children’s data

This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.
